OPERATIONAL REQUIRMENTS

Working in close partnership with our clients, we will draw on the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) guidance on protective security risk management (PSeRM) to inform the operational requirements (OR) development process:

Identify the assets that need to be protected.

Conduct a threat, vulnerability and risk assessment (TVRA)

A. Identify the threats that could have a negative impact on the assets


B. Analyse each threat and asset to understand the vulnerability – the impact the threat could have on the asset


C. Assess the risk – the consequences of a negative impact on a specific asset.

Treat the risks and identify suitable measures to mitigate the exposure to risks:

A. Documented procedures such as assignment instructions (AIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)


B. Identify security officer staffing needs to ensure all security posts are suitably staffed


C. Identify technical measures – CCTV  video surveillance system, access control system, perimeter intrusion detection system etc.

Treat the risks and identify suitable measures to mitigate the exposure to risks:

A. Documented procedures such as assignment instructions (AIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)


B. Identify security officer staffing needs to ensure all security posts are crewed


C. Identify technical measures – closed circuit video surveillance system, access control system, perimeter intrusion detection system etc.
